DUTIES Do you follow developments in the external environment and can you compile a large amount of information in a concise and understandable way? Do you enjoy analyzing large datasets and processing them into usable insights? We are now strengthening the staff around the Director General and are therefore looking for a strategic environmental analyst. The Director General's office provides strategic and administrative management support to the Director General and coordinates certain cross-agency matters. This means the office has tasks such as coordinating, initiating, and driving matters in relation to the Government Offices, assisting the Legal Director with regulatory development, coordinating the Director General's cases and preparation of such cases for decision, quality assuring and following up certain of the agency's planning, governance, and supporting documents, and providing administrative support to the board, Director General, and management group. This also includes responsibility for planning and coordinating both the work of Lantmäteriet's management group and board work. As an environmental analyst, you are responsible for Lantmäteriet's strategic environmental analysis. This means you are responsible for and conduct cross-agency analysis and research work, and prepare materials and reports for the agency's management. You map and analyze trends in the external environment such as economics, technology, politics, and societal development in Sweden and internationally. You function as Lantmäteriet's scanner for everything from issues concerning Sweden to externally impacting areas in, for example, the EU, USA, and NATO. You transform complex information into concrete and summarized decision-making materials to support the Director General in making strategic decisions. You also provide strategic and operational support in various tasks and investigations. You will support and guide operations in a changing time that places new demands on identifying and assessing risks and discovering opportunities. Some examples of work duties are monitoring and collecting data from relevant sources. This also includes analyzing trends, identifying connections, and assessing how external environmental changes (e.g., new legislation or changes in the global economy) impact your own operations. An important part is compiling the insights into reports and communications for different target groups. The role requires good collaboration both internally and externally. Placement is at Lantmäteriet's offices in Gävle, Uppsala, or Stockholm. The majority of staff members are based in Gävle, which is why regular presence in Gävle is required. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree for the position or equivalent work and at least three years of qualified and current professional experience in cross-agency environmental analysis that continuously provides support to senior management in a larger organization/agency. Experience working at a state authority or within the Government Offices is a requirement. You have professional experience reporting and publishing results and information that is interesting and readable for recipients across different areas of expertise. You must also have solid experience working with strategic development issues and long-term change management in a complex operation. You have experience handling media attention, working in collaboration and dialogue both within and outside your own organization, and working in complex organizations with cross-functional teams. You have previously conducted cross-agency research work on behalf of senior management. You have excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
