Strategic Procurement Specialist for Direct Materials – Consulting Assignment

Company Presentation We are now seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist for Direct Materials for a consulting assignment of approximately six months with our client in Mjölby. There is a possibility for extension. You will become part of a larger procurement organization within the manufacturing industry and work in an operational role with significant autonomy. This is a consulting assignment through Unik Resurs. The assignment is full-time and the work is conducted according to a hybrid model. Tasks and Responsibilities As a Strategic Procurement Specialist for Direct Materials, you will become part of a category team with responsibility for suppliers and components within direct materials. The role has a clear tactical and commercial orientation where the focus is on managing existing supplier relationships and ensuring that ongoing procurement work functions efficiently. You will, among other things: Manage and develop relationships with existing suppliers. Conduct price negotiations and monitor market developments. Ensure correct prices, terms, and procurement data in business systems. Follow up on existing agreements and ensure compliance. Drive ongoing procurement and supplier issues from need to solution. Serve as an important link between suppliers and internal technical functions. Read and interpret technical drawings in dialogue with engineering and suppliers. Work with procurement data and analyses as a basis for decisions and negotiations. Conduct supplier visits when needed. Your Profile We are looking for someone with experience in tactical and/or strategic procurement of direct materials and who is comfortable with day-to-day procurement work. You have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with an existing supplier base and independently take responsibility for your areas. We would like to see that you have: Experience with tactical and/or strategic procurement of direct materials. Experience with supplier relationships, price negotiations, and contract follow-up. Technical understanding and ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Experience with mechanical components, such as forgings or machined parts, is a merit. Familiarity with business systems. Strong skills in Excel and experience with procurement data and analysis. Relevant academic education in fields such as engineering, industrial economics, procurement, or similar. As a person, you are self-driven, motivated, and solution-oriented. You see what needs to be done and take initiative to move the work forward rather than merely identifying problems. You have good social and communication skills and understand the value of building long-term and trusting relationships with suppliers. You thrive in an environment with significant autonomy and an open culture.
