Welcome to our children and youth residential care facilities under Section 9:8 LSS – an operation where you make a real difference every day.
We are now expanding our operations and are therefore seeking committed support pedagogues who want to help shape our activities together with us.
We are recruiting for two units: Ånestadsgatan 156 in Smedby, an established facility, and Vägstumpen 1 in Svärtinge, a new unit starting in autumn 2026. You will be assigned to one of these units, where you will play an important role in creating a strong and well-functioning team, guiding the work group in our core mission. You will have a close colleague in your work as a support pedagogue, as we have two primary support pedagogues responsible for each child and young person.
Our operations have a total of seven residential places. Children and young people with various disabilities, backgrounds, and individual needs live in our facilities. The operation has high staff density and we have round-the-clock staffing with both awake night shifts and sleeping on-call duty. In our care, children and young people are always at the center, where we work purposefully to promote their independence and create a safe and adapted living environment based on their individual needs and circumstances.
Your duties
As a support pedagogue with us, you will have a varied role with great responsibility for matters directed toward our children and young people, and an important role in guiding the work group toward established goals. You initiate, work with, and implement various areas and issues that promote the facility's quality and development work together with the unit manager. The work in the facility is based on each individual's implementation plan. Our objective is to work so that each person becomes as independent and secure as possible to develop according to their abilities. You provide individually adapted interventions and maintain a professional approach.
Together with the unit manager and the rest of the personnel group, consisting of support assistants and support pedagogues, you form a team around the children and young people living here. As a support pedagogue with us, you have a key role in our team for creating structure and clarity in work regarding safety and quality of life for our residents in their home. You have overall responsibility for social and educational matters concerning our children and young people, where you identify needs in an analytical and clear manner, plan, and implement various types of change work.
You are part of close individual work, which means following our children and young people in their daily lives. The duties include everything that occurs in a home environment where the individual's needs guide the work. The work involves contact with many actors both internally and externally. This is important for maintaining holistic work around each individual, as the children and young people live permanently with us.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are trained as a support pedagogue or who have other relevant education that the employer considers equivalent. To succeed in this role, we see that you have at least a few years of experience working as a support pedagogue where you have held a supervisory responsibility.
Experience and knowledge of working with people who display various types of challenging behavior, such as physical and verbal outbursts and self-injurious behavior, is a requirement. We would like to see that you have experience and knowledge of socially disruptive behavior as it occurs within our target groups. We also see that you need experience with clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal interaction approaches, and neuropsychiatry. You have previous experience working with children and young people within LSS; it is positive if you have experience with PWS and NPF as well as knowledge of trauma and crisis management.
It would be desirable if you can use sign language or sign support and/or are familiar with other forms of AAC.
You have a high level of structure and a holistic perspective while maintaining a well-grounded approach linked to user and family-related issues within the LSS target group. It is important that you can cooperate and work based on decisions made in the operation. Taking initiative and striving to create good relationships and achieve results are competencies we consider important.
Being a good role model for our children and young people as well as your colleagues is self-evident to you. You are receptive and adapt your communication to the person you meet, which also means you have high self-awareness where you are conscious of your feelings and actions and how this affects your work situations.
As a person, you are empathetic and confident with a positive attitude and high commitment to the target group. You see possibilities from a professional perspective and want to contribute to developing the operation based on the objectives in place.
You who apply have good computer skills and can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
A B-category driver's license is a requirement.
