Unit Description We are seeking a support educator for a service residence under LSS (Swedish Disability Services Act) located in central Huddinge. It is a residence for 13 adults with various functional variations such as mild to moderate intellectual disability, Asperger's/ASD, and other neuropsychiatric disabilities. Psychiatric additional problems, challenging behavior, and threats or violence may occur. We work with the individual at the center and are careful to ensure quality in the services we provide so that the residents can live as independently and well as possible. About the Work Scheduled working hours on a four-week rotating schedule with day shifts, evening shifts, sleeping on-call duty, and one weekend per month. In your role, you should be able to support and inspire other staff members in the pedagogical development of the unit. Work is planned, documented, and carefully followed up. It should be self-evident to you to design support based on the resident's own will and needs and to work towards increased influence for residents in the activity. It is important that you understand the value of a helpful professional relationship built on respect for the individual's self-determination and integrity. The unit needs to continue developing in pace with digital development. As a support educator, it is very important that you document well in the operational systems Lifecare and have the ability to support staff members in planning quality support for the residents. Your Profile We are looking for a committed support educator with relevant education for the target group. You must have at least 60 higher education credits or 200 vocational higher education credits within a relevant educational field. It is a requirement that you have current knowledge of Asperger's/ASD and the living conditions of people with functional variations. To succeed in this role, you need to have interest and experience in developing the activity based on the resident's self-determination and with respect for the resident's integrity. It is a requirement that you have knowledge of and use low-arousal approaches, motivational interviewing (MI), and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) based on the target group's needs. It is advantageous to have good knowledge of social stories, comic strip conversations, assessment, and cognitive aids. It is a requirement that you have the ability to build professional helping relationships based on respect for the individual's self-determination and integrity. You should be comfortable and experienced in working with people who place demands on their services. It is advantageous to have previous experience working with people who may exhibit problematic and challenging behavior and to have knowledge and experience in addressing this. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge and experience in psychiatry, as the unit has residents with additional psychiatric problems. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working as a support educator. You are expected to provide support to other staff members in a humble manner. Being able to collaborate with all staff members at the workplace is a requirement, as is the ability to create and maintain good relationships with internal and external contacts. To support you in your work, you will regularly meet with the disability services methodology developer together with other support educators. You must speak Swedish well in both speech and writing and have good computer skills. Upon employment, we will request an extract from the police's criminal record register.
