Support Educator for Höken's Daily Activities

Service Description The Functional Support Department provides support and services to children, youth, and adults with disabilities. We work in accordance with LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and the Social Services Act to strengthen individuals' independence, security, and participation. The department encompasses daily activities, housing with special services, supportive housing, support and service housing, short-term housing for children, recreational activities, respite care and companion services, and personal assistance. The Functional Support Department makes a real difference in people's everyday lives and creates conditions for independent and meaningful living. Responsibilities Höken's daily activities work with users who receive services under LSS. Your role is to provide appropriately designed educational support based on each user's needs, abilities, and interests to develop their capacity for independence and participation in society. You are responsible for pedagogical planning in consultation with other staff members and with support from the Pedagogical Team within Functional Support. We use visual supports, AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), among other tools. Your work also includes care for the users. Qualifications You have training as a support educator, special educator, recreational educator, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in LSS activities is desirable. You contribute calm stability, great patience, and are receptive. Flexibility is a major asset as you will smoothly adapt your work to the user's daily condition and changing circumstances. We place great value on your willingness to collaborate and your commitment to good relationships with colleagues, family members, and guardians. You must be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. The activities include physical activities with users, so you must have basic physical fitness and an interest in planning and conducting activities. Personal suitability is emphasized. Under the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is desirable when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality. A valid B-category driving license is required. A police background check clearance must be provided upon employment. Work Schedule/Duration Permanent position, 100% daytime hours. Probation may apply. Salary Monthly salary.
