At Morängatan, 10 residents live with various intellectual and mental disabilities. We're looking for someone who wants to create good conditions for each individual to develop toward a more independent and meaningful life. Here you'll have the opportunity to influence, shape, and work long-term. You'll work alongside another support educator, which creates excellent opportunities to drive pedagogical processes forward and develop work methods over time. We work with a clear core idea: our residents should be involved and have influence over their daily lives. As a support educator, you'll have a central role in the organization's quality development and systematic improvement work. This includes: supporting support assistants in working with implementation plans and social documentation, establishing, developing, and following up on work methods and approaches. It also means contributing to a safe work environment and professional conduct, collaborating with family members, guardians, and other important stakeholders. You work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and your unit manager, and you're an active part in driving initiatives, developing routines, and shaping our future work methods. The position is located during daytime hours, Monday to Friday. Qualifications You have education as a support or social pedagogue, or have other relevant post-secondary education in the disability field (minimum 200 vocational credits, 120 credits, or equivalent to four semesters of full-time studies). Alternatively: 60 credits plus at least two years of experience working with support/services for people with disabilities. Your education should include relevant courses in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and/or psychiatric care. Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you don't meet the Swedish language qualifications, you may be offered a language test through test provider Educateit. You have experience working with people with challenging behavior. You also have experience working with people with autism, intellectual and mental disabilities. You have previous experience working as a support educator. You have experience working in care and support services. You also have experience and/or knowledge of LAB (low-affect approaches), AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), social documentation, as well as participation and self-determination. You also need good computer skills. You remain calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. You work well with others by listening, showing interest and respect. You understand the shared mission and work to make it as good as possible. You can resist pressure from others, set boundaries, and say no when needed. You're clear in your professional role and act professionally in situations where others question you or make unreasonable demands. You're attentive and open to understanding others' needs, feelings, and opinions. You're receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your conduct.
