We are now looking for a new colleague to join our great team! With us, you will work together with your colleagues to support children and young people on the autism spectrum with intellectual disabilities. Support is tailored according to the young people's needs, wishes, and individual plans. You are an important person for the young people and serve as support to provide the youth with a safe, functioning, and meaningful daily life. Work hours are scheduled for daytime, evenings, weekends, and on-call overnight shifts; therefore, it is a requirement that you can work irregular hours. Full-time position (100%) beginning with a 6-month probationary period. Collective agreement applies. About the Workplace Marielund LSS Tyringe is a residential facility with four places that receives children and young people aged 12-17 on the autism spectrum with intellectual disabilities covered by the first category according to section 1 of the LSS (Swedish Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). The facility operates with one-to-one staffing, meaning the young people have access to their own personnel. Job Responsibilities Your task is to support, activate, and guide children and young people in their daily lives. You are responsible together with your colleagues for planning, implementing, and documenting interventions. As a support educator, your task is to fulfill the goals outlined in the individual plan regarding self-determination, participation, and integrity for each young person. You perform daily and planned support interventions based on the young person's individual needs and wishes in accordance with LSS. You should contribute to creating a meaningful and safe daily life where activities are shaped according to the young person's strengths, interests, and needs. Care work occurs as part of the role. A large part of the work also involves ensuring that the young people's living environment is clean and tidy; tasks such as laundry, cleaning, cooking, and gardening are included. You need to have at least one year of work experience within LSS and must have worked with people with autism and/or using clarifying pedagogy. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. In this position, you will support young people with disabilities who show high sensitivity and therefore require your attentiveness to their needs in order to thrive. You should thus have a low-affect approach and understand challenging behavior. The work involves great autonomy and requires that you are independent and comfortable taking your own initiative. You participate in finding solutions together with colleagues, gladly contribute ideas, and work for good cooperation and a pleasant working environment in the team. As a support educator, you are also expected to drive and develop pedagogical methods and support colleagues in their pedagogical work, sharing knowledge about various pedagogical methods and adaptations. Qualifications Support Educator: vocational college degree, either through a 200-credit vocational college education with clear focus on disabilities or equivalent higher education. Education and/or experience in clarifying pedagogy. Education and/or experience in low-affect approaches. Experience working with people displaying challenging behavior. Strong knowledge of LSS. Experience with social documentation. Strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. B driver's license required.
