Responsibilities We are now recruiting a support educator for Åkerviolens group home. The facility is located in Guldheden and offers housing with special support and services according to the LSS (Lag om stöd och service till vissa personer med funktionsnedsättning). Six people with varying support needs live here. At Åkerviolen, we believe that quality is created in our meetings with service users. Therefore, we are now looking for a support educator who wants to be a driving force in pedagogical work and contribute to a shared, professional approach. The home serves people with intellectual disabilities and autism. Our residents have varying and sometimes extensive care needs. At our facility, support educators, support assistants, and management work closely together; we believe in collaboration, participation, and shared responsibility for the development of our operations. We work with a clear core principle: our residents should be involved and have influence over their daily lives. As a support educator, you will have a central role in the facility's quality development and systematic improvement work. This includes: supporting support assistants in working with implementation plans and social documentation, establishing, developing, and monitoring work methods and approaches. It also means contributing to a safe work environment and professional interactions, collaborating with family members, guardians, and other key stakeholders. In daily work, we use methods such as low-arousal approaches, clarifying pedagogy, sign language support, and alternative and augmentative communication. In addition to your work as a support educator, you will also perform regular tasks within the facility. Working hours include day shifts, evening shifts, on-call sleep shifts, and every other weekend. We use Time Care Planning for facility-adapted and flexible schedules. Qualifications You are trained as a support or social educator, or have other relevant post-secondary education in the disability field (minimum 200 yh-points, 120 hp or equivalent to four semesters of full-time studies). Alternatively: 60 hp plus at least two years of experience working with support/services for people with disabilities. The education should include relevant courses in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and/or psychiatric care. It is a requirement that you have experience working with threats, violence, and challenging behavior. You should have experience working in care and support. You also have experience and/or knowledge of LAB (low-arousal approaches), AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), clarifying pedagogy, Sign Language Support, and IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), social documentation. You also need good computer skills. You are calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. You work well with others by listening, showing interest and respect. You understand the shared mission and work to make it as good as possible. You can resist pressure from others, set boundaries, and say no when necessary. You are clear in your professional role and act professionally in situations where others question you or make unreasonable demands.
