Highlights of the position: Meaningful pedagogical assignment Close collaboration within the work team Contribute to independence and future confidence Your responsibilities As an educational support specialist, you are part of the team at the adapted upper secondary school and work together with teachers to create an accessible, safe, and developmentally focused learning environment for our students. You are actively involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction. Based on the teacher's planning and students' diverse needs, you help adapt work methods, materials, and learning environments so that students have good opportunities to succeed in their learning. Your work includes, among other things: planning and preparing instruction and activities together with teachers actively participating in the delivery of instruction working pedagogically with students both individually and in groups supporting students in understanding tasks, developing strategies, and taking increasing responsibility for their own learning contributing to structure, clarity, and predictability throughout the school day supporting students' communication, social interaction, participation, and independence colaborating with teachers, student support services, and other professionals regarding students' overall school situation. The work requires you to be able to shift between being present and providing support and stepping back when a student can complete a task independently. The goal is not to do things for the student, but to create conditions for students to develop and become as independent as possible. This position is a temporary contract for 2027 while the current employee is on parental leave. Your profile We are seeking someone with a clear pedagogical approach who wants to be actively involved in students' learning and development. We see that you have: post-secondary education as an educational support specialist or other pedagogical education that the employer considers relevant knowledge of and understanding regarding intellectual disabilities and other disabilities that may affect learning and school situations ability to adapt communication, interaction, and pedagogical support according to different students' needs good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing good digital competence. It is meritorious if you have experience working in an adapted upper secondary school, adapted primary school, or other pedagogical activities for people with intellectual disabilities. To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to be confident, responsive, and relationship-oriented, while also being able to be clear and create structure. You have patience and the ability to meet students based on their different circumstances without lowering expectations for their potential to develop. You also need to be someone who enjoys collaboration. The role involves close work with teachers and colleagues where you share experiences, reflect on instruction, and jointly seek solutions. At the same time, you need to be able to take your own initiative and act independently within the framework of shared pedagogical work. We are seeking someone who sees opportunities, is curious about how teaching and support can be developed, and who has strong confidence in students' ability to learn, develop, and become more independent.
