BMSS at Knuts väg in Olofstorp is a modern, newly built facility designed according to the needs of our target group with a focus on safety, structure, and well-being. The facility has recently been expanded with two fully-equipped apartments with separate entrances as well as shared staff spaces that promote collaboration and a safe work environment. Our daily activities program is located in close proximity, which creates structure, continuity, and comprehensive support throughout the day. Together with our established unit, we work based on low-arousal approaches and individualized methods where predictability, stability, and a holistic perspective are central. By minimizing environmental changes, we strengthen safety and coherence. Our target group consists of individuals with extensive support needs, often with autism and challenging behaviors. The residence offers fully-equipped independent housing with close staff support and a daily activities program adjacent to the home, which contributes to improved quality of life. Work Duties As a support assistant, you will work in both the newly built and existing units and in close collaboration with the daily activities program, based on operational needs. You will be part of a unified team where collaboration, flexibility, and a consistent approach are crucial for quality and continuity. The work involves providing individually adapted support in the daily lives of residents based on implementation plans and applicable legislation. You actively work to create structure, clarity, and safety through pedagogical and low-arousal methods. The role includes documentation, collaboration with colleagues and external partners, and contributing to operational development and quality assurance. The positions involve work during day and evening shifts according to schedule. The residence is located in Olofstorp with good bus connections from Hjällbo and the city center. Qualifications To work within disability support, you must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with regulations on youth work environment 14 § and appendix 2 1B (AFS 2023:2). You must be able to show approved grades in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not have this, you may be offered a language test via EducateIt. It is advantageous to have a degree from the Healthcare and Care Program, support assistant training, or the Children's and Leisure Program with a focus on social or educational work. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent, such as specialization in the disability field with at least 200 vocational credits or higher education in, for example, behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care. You must have documented experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, preferably in residential care with special services according to LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). You have knowledge of autism, challenging behaviors, and understanding and experience of low-arousal approaches. You have experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and can work with clarifying and structured approaches in daily life. You have basic knowledge of LSS and relevant regulations. We also value applicants with extensive experience in AAC, sign support, or TAKK. You are experienced in working with implementation plans and social documentation. Experience with digital activity management systems, such as Treserva, is advantageous. A driver's license is also advantageous. You are structured, confident, and clear in your communication. You contribute to continuity and stability in the operations, have good collaboration skills, and maintain a professional approach in interactions with residents, colleagues, and family members.
