We are now seeking two support assistants/support workers for two LSS housing units in Torvalla.
Here you work closely with people with various disabilities and provide support in everyday life, both at home and outside. The goal is to create conditions for as independent and active a life as possible. You become part of a dedicated team where you together create a safe and developing environment. The work is based on the individual's needs and conditions and is characterized by a pedagogical approach according to KASAM (comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness).
The housing units have separate common areas and offices. Working hours vary and are scheduled during day, evening, on-call, and weekends. You work according to a rotation schedule with the opportunity to influence your schedule according to current guidelines. These positions are open-ended with 100% full-time employment. Start date by agreement.
Your New Job
As a support assistant, you will provide support to residents based on individual needs and circumstances. You help residents manage their daily lives and all the challenges that may arise.
Activities are a natural part of the work and may consist of walks, outings, social activities, or errands in daily life—always with the goal of strengthening participation and quality of life. The work is varied and requires you to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks during a shift. We work closely with colleagues and other professionals such as nurses, special education coordinators, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to create a comprehensive approach around each individual. The role includes care work, health-related support, and healthcare tasks performed by delegation. You document in the Viva journal system. The role also includes contact person responsibilities, which means you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on measures, always with a habilitative approach.
Common Work Tasks
- Support and guidance in the individual's daily life
- Support with personal hygiene
- Grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and other household chores
- Performing delegated healthcare tasks according to healthcare legislation, such as medication management
- Participating in various activities with the individual
- Documentation
Your Qualifications
Requirements
- Secondary education (gymnasium). Preferably with a clear focus on healthcare, social work, or pedagogy
- Good knowledge of Swedish (speaking, writing, and reading comprehension)
Meriting Factors
- Trained nursing assistant/support assistant or other equivalent education that the employer deems appropriate for the position
- Experience working in the disability services field
- Good computer skills
- Driver's license (category B)
