Disability Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life. Porfyrvägen is a service-supported residential facility under the LSS framework with a focus on intellectual disabilities. Six people live here in their own apartments of varying ages and with different care needs. We adapt support to each individual. We are now recruiting more support assistants! Your Responsibilities You will guide and support people with intellectual disabilities in their daily lives. You will provide individualized, social, and practical support to enable and utilize individuals' own abilities, thereby creating conditions for independence. You will work to make people active participants in their daily lives and ensure meaningful leisure time and/or activities. The work includes personal care, heavy lifting, practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. You will also participate in leisure activities such as cinema visits, exercise, walks, and more. Work hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts. Collaborative planning occurs between our disability services operations. There is a cat at the workplace, so you should not be allergic. About You You are calm, curious, and engaged. You have good collaboration skills and a professional approach to service users, colleagues, and other networks around our users. It is important that you share our values, work toward established goals, and take responsibility for our shared work environment. It is also important that you are proactive and enjoy working with change, as we are undergoing significant development and transformation work in the operation. Personal suitability will be weighted heavily. To communicate with service users, relatives, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have good Swedish language skills in both speaking and writing. Requirements: - Care and healthcare program, child and leisure program, social work program, or other education that the employer deems equivalent - Experience working in care and support, such as in LSS residential facilities or elderly care Merits: - Experience working with people with disabilities - Experience working with motivational interviewing (MI) and independent living (ESL) - Experience with low-arousal approaches - Experience using lifting aids Other Information To ensure that candidates called for interviews are those who best meet the requirements and qualifications for the position, we use selection questions.
