The Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and collaboration. Ordinary housing is organized within Disability Care Services, and we provide short-term supervision, short-term housing, respite care, home services, and a National Gymnasium for children and young adults. We also offer daily activities/employment, residential support, and dependency resource teams for adults over 18 years old. We are launching a staff pool for the Children and Young Adults area of Disability Care Services, which will cover regular staff absences in our children and young adult services within short-term housing and short-term supervision. We are now recruiting several support assistants who want to join us on this journey from the start! Your Tasks Together with your colleagues, you will support individuals' ability to live as independently as possible and contribute to a safe and stimulating environment. You will plan and carry out individually tailored activities such as walks, play, crafts, and games to promote social participation and create meaningful leisure time. The work includes supporting and assisting with communication, personal care, and meals. An important part of the job is collaborating with parents and others in the individual's network to ensure they receive the necessary support. Your work also includes documentation, record-keeping, development plan creation, and medication management. What We Offer You You get much more than just a job with us! Requirements Health and care program, children and leisure program, or other education the employer considers equivalent. Experience working with individuals with disabilities within LSS (Swedish Disability Act), school, or other equivalent experience. Strong Swedish language skills in both speech and writing to communicate with service users, family members, and colleagues, and to write and understand care documentation. Meritorious Previous experience working with individuals with autism Experience with structured teaching methods Experience working with aggressive behavior/threats and violence situations Employment Information We are recruiting multiple full-time positions starting 2026-10-01 or by agreement. Positions are scheduled for day/evening/weekend or awake night shifts on weekdays and weekends. In the application form below, you can select which position(s) you are interested in. As a staff pool employee, you will receive a salary supplement of 2500:- (full-time) and compensation for work-related travel.
