Welcome to Us Within the LSS Housing Department, we have group homes and service housing throughout Jönköping Municipality. We serve people with intellectual, neuropsychiatric, or physical disabilities who are 21 years of age or older. Our goal is to work toward promoting personal abilities while respecting each individual's personal integrity and individual needs. We use coordinated recruitment to find the right person for the right position. Your New Job You will work closely with residents in their daily lives to promote independence, participation, and meaningful existence. Job duties include care, medication management, household tasks, activities, social support and documentation, as well as contact person responsibilities. Lifting occurs and there may be challenging/acting-out behavior that staff manage through a pedagogical approach and low-affect interaction. You will adapt your work to individual needs and preferences while respecting personal integrity. Other job duties may occur and change over time. Collaboration occurs with family/legal representatives, colleagues, supervisors, and professionals such as healthcare providers, day activities, authorities, and other key stakeholders in the individual's life. Together you identify and create conditions for individual development, motivation, and opportunities. Your Competencies You are a Support Assistant, which requires a completed upper secondary program in children and leisure with a focus on social/pedagogical work or care and nursing with specialization in the disability/psychiatry program deepening, or another qualification that the employer deems equivalent You have experience within the disability field or other equivalent pedagogical or care work You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and good computer skills You have good physical mobility as the work can be physically demanding Some positions require a Class B driver's license; otherwise it is a merit We are looking for someone who is attentive, accommodating, and patient. You remain calm in stressful situations and inspire confidence in others. Good pedagogical insight is important – you understand how different people learn and have different circumstances. Personal maturity and empathetic ability are highly valued as they help you understand various situations the individual may face. You are also self-directed in your work while collaborating well with others. Above all, you are driven by supporting, motivating, and finding opportunities for development. Depending on the facility, working hours vary but may include day/evening shifts as well as on-call or awake night shifts, weekdays as well as weekends. We always offer 100% employment and work with coordinated planning where cooperation and work occur with other facilities. Selection and interviews take place continuously during the recruitment process, and positions may be filled before the final application deadline.
