Who are we?
Welcome to our children and youth residential facilities under section 9:8 of the LSS – an organization where you make a real difference every day. We are now expanding our operations and are therefore seeking engaged support assistants who want to help shape our services together with us. With us, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a safe, developmental, and professional environment – both for the children and young people we work with and for your colleagues.
We are recruiting for two units: Ånestadsgatan 156 in Smedby, an established facility, and Vägstumpen 1 in Svärtinge, a new unit starting in fall 2026. You will be part of one of these units, where you'll become an important part of creating a strong and well-functioning team.
Our facilities have a total of seven residential places. Children and young people with various disabilities, different backgrounds, and individual needs live in our facilities. The operations maintain a high staff-to-resident ratio and we have 24-hour staffing with both awake night shifts and sleeping on-call duty. In our organization, the children and young people are always at the center, where we work purposefully to promote their independence and create a safe and adapted living environment based on their individual needs and circumstances.
Your responsibilities
Work in the facility is based on each individual's implementation plan. Our goal is to work towards making each person as independent and secure as possible so they can develop according to their abilities. You provide individually adapted support and maintain a professional approach.
Together with the rest of the staff team, consisting of support assistants and support educators, you form a team around the individuals living here. As an employee with us, you have a significant role in our team in creating security and quality of life for our residents in their home.
You are part of the close user-centered work, which involves following our children and young people in their daily lives. The tasks include everything that occurs in a home environment where the individual's needs guide the work. The work involves contact with many actors both internally and externally. This is important for maintaining holistic work around each individual, as the children and young people live permanently with us.
Who are you?
We're looking for someone with a high school diploma from a care and nursing program, children and recreation program with a social focus, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent, such as behavioral science or treatment pedagogy. Experience and knowledge of working with people exhibiting various types of challenging behaviors, such as physical and verbal aggression and self-injurious behavior, is a requirement. We'd prefer that you have experience and knowledge of socially disruptive behaviors, as these occur within our target groups. We also see that you need to have experience with visual teaching methods, low-affect approaches, and neuropsychiatry. You have previous experience working with children and young people within LSS, and we view it positively if you've worked with special diagnoses such as PWS and within NPF, as well as having knowledge of trauma and crisis management. It's desirable if you can sign language or use signs as support and/or are familiar with other forms of AAC.
You maintain a high level of structure and a holistic perspective while having a well-grounded approach related to user and family-related issues within the LSS target group. It's important that you can collaborate and work based on decisions made in the organization. We consider it important that you take initiative and strive to build good relationships and achieve results.
Being a good role model for our children and young people as well as your colleagues is self-evident to you. You are responsive and adapt your communication to the person you meet, which also means you have high self-awareness where you're conscious of your feelings and actions and how these affect your work situations.
Close user-centered work requires that you have a high degree of independence. You see what needs to be done and take initiative in your daily work, which includes being able to implement and develop new ideas and methods. You are flexible and can change your approach and adapt when the situation requires it. You find it easy to prioritize and find solutions in different situations. You're accustomed to working with risk assessments and can see both the big picture and details. As a person, you are calm and confident with a positive attitude and genuine commitment to the target group. You see opportunities from a professional perspective and want to contribute to developing the organization based on its goals.
You have good computer skills and can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
A driver's license is a requirement.
