WORK DUTIES
We are now seeking staff for a customized special residential unit under the LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) where you will work with a customer with special needs. In this work, staff base their approach on the individual's needs in daily life.
In this role, you will work closely and dedicatedly with a specific customer whose behavior presents challenges. Your primary task is to create a safe, supportive, and professional environment for the customer. Meeting the customer with empathy and respect, regardless of their behavior, is of utmost importance. This also means you maintain professional distance to avoid being personally affected by emotional reactions.
As a support assistant, you will, among other things:
• Provide customized support so the customer can live as good and independent a life as possible inside and outside the home, based on needs and wishes.
• Handle implementation plans that form the basis for quality-assuring daily support and the customer's individual needs and wishes, through LSS decisions made.
• Work in the residence with daily tasks such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc.
• Perform administrative tasks such as creating implementation plans and documenting in the Treserva activity system and creating operational procedures, action plans, etc.
• Work extensively with pedagogy.

The position is scheduled for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is engaged and responsible in your assignment. You think innovatively, are creative and solution-focused, and see opportunities instead of obstacles. You can work based on the customer's needs while still adhering to agreed-upon routines to ensure a safe and secure everyday life for everyone. You have excellent ability to collaborate with various professionals, colleagues, and networks.
To be qualified for the position, you have:
• An approved upper secondary education in children and leisure activities, with a focus on social work, or are trained as a support assistant. Alternatively, education in behavioral science, other education that the employer deems equivalent, or several years of experience working with challenging behaviors.
• B driving license and driving experience
It is meritorious if you have:
• Courses focused on disabilities, training in low-affective interaction, training in clarifying pedagogy, training in preventive and protective methods for challenging behaviors involving threats and violence.
To succeed in the role, you have:
• A genuine interest in working with people with challenging behaviors.
• The ability to take your own initiative, be courageous, and distinguish between the issue and the person.
• The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others and help them develop and feel well.
• The ability to create open dialogue and adapt your actions based on the situation.
• The ability to build trusting relationships and make others feel safe.
• The ability to work with other people, to listen, show empathy and respect. You are unpretentious and notice and acknowledge others' contributions.
• The ability to adapt to different situations and can change your perspective and approach. You see opportunities in changes.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
For this position, a certificate from the police criminal record register is required. This will only be requested from final candidates in the last step of the recruitment process.
Selection and interviews take place continuously during the recruitment process and the position may be filled during this time. We may apply a 6-month probationary period.
