The position is located within the Social Services Department, one of eight departments in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Department is responsible for public administration, contracting services, and in-house operations within the areas of individual and family care, LSS (disability services), and social psychiatry. Your responsibilities As a support assistant, you support users in their daily lives. Together with the user, you plan and structure everyday activities based on the individual's needs and goals. The aim is to provide the right support so that the user can live as independently as possible. The work includes, among other things, providing support with daily tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping, as well as personal care. You also work to strengthen the user's confidence in their own abilities. An important part of the work is to motivate and encourage social activities and meaningful occupation. You use, among other things, motivational interviewing (MI) and a pedagogical approach. When needed, you accompany users to activities and provide support in contacts with authorities. In the work, we use methods such as An Independent Life (ESL), low-affect communication, and IBIC (Individual's needs at the center). Documentation and record-keeping are also part of the work, partly to monitor the implementation plans. Your workplace Konstruktörsgatan is a supported housing facility for adults from 18 years old with mental and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities. Substance abuse may also be present. The facility consists of a base apartment and 13 individual apartments in the same area. Staff are present in the base apartment and provide housing support in users' own apartments. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and every other weekend. For this position, the employment degree is at least 80%, but given the right to full-time employment as applied in Linköping Municipality, you have the option to choose a higher employment degree up to full-time. The operation coordinates with other units, which means that employment at multiple workplaces may be relevant. About you We are looking for someone with training as a nursing assistant, childcare provider/support assistant, or other relevant education for the position. You have experience working in support, care, and nursing. Experience working in psychiatry is meritorious, as is knowledge of low-affect communication and MI (motivational interviewing). You need to be able to communicate fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing. You have good computer skills and a category B driver's license as driving may be required in the job. As a person, you have good cooperation skills and are attentive in your contact with both residents and colleagues. You are stable and can handle demanding situations with calm and good judgment. You take responsibility for your work tasks and feel comfortable working independently. You also have the ability to listen and adapt your support according to each individual's needs.
