Job Responsibilities We are now seeking a new team member for a longer-term temporary position at Kålhagens Children's Residential Home in Torslanda! At Kålhagens Children's Residential Home, we work with individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities and intellectual disabilities. Care work is part of the job responsibilities. We use methods such as low-arousal approach (LAB) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), such as visual supports and sign language as support. The children living here are between 13-15 years old. The foundation of our work is that residents are involved and have the opportunity to influence decisions and interventions regarding themselves according to their unique abilities. You will join a work team that currently consists of support assistants and a support pedagogue. The work includes serving as a contact person. This means you will have contact with family members and other networks, and actively work with implementation plans and continuous documentation. We document in various systems such as Treserva, Time Care, and Personec. Work hours are scheduled according to day, evening, and on-call shifts. Welcome to submit your application! Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree from the Care and Health Program, support assistant training, or the Children and Recreation Program with a focus on social or educational work. The education requirement is also met if you have post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 vocational school credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four full-time semesters of study. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent. If you do not meet the requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit. You have knowledge and experience working with children with intellectual and neuropsychiatric functional variations. It is advantageous if you have experience with low-arousal approach (LAB) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). We also consider it advantageous if you have a Class B driver's license. You take responsibility for your work tasks and the group's work tasks. You think about those we serve and their best interests. At the same time, you are friendly and helpful toward other people, even in stressful situations, and work to ensure that the user receives what they need. You adapt the way you communicate your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. Finally, you remain calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations.
