Functional Support is an operational area within the Welfare Administration. Part of the assignment is to implement decisions made according to the LSS law, primarily decisions regarding housing with special services, personal assistance, and daily activities. The goal of the support provided is to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in community life so that individuals who have been granted support have the opportunity to live like others.
At Bjästa temporary group home, there is space for 7 residents. In the operations, a support pedagogue, support assistants, and support staff work in a team of a total of 10 employees. Together we provide support to our residents around the clock, every day of the year.
Our work is carried out through individually designed support with high quality and self-determination, where good treatment permeates all operations. We are therefore looking for an engaged and goal-oriented support assistant who wants to contribute to developing our operations!
The group home is currently temporarily located in Bjästa, but may in the future be moved to another location within Örnsköldsviks municipality. The timing and location of a possible move have not yet been determined.
Work Tasks
You are responsible for establishing and following up implementation plans with the user, other social documentation, and other administrative tasks/areas of responsibility such as scheduling, purchase orders, health and safety.
Together with your colleagues, you will carry out everyday and planned support measures and activities with the user, as well as support and motivate in daily activities at home and during leisure time. This includes building trusting relationships with users and being a good role model.
You will ensure that support measures are based on the user's individual needs, promote independence, participation, and are carried out with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. You help with, among other things, everyday chores and activities, personal hygiene, and medication.
Work hours are distributed evenly between evenings and nights, with weekend service 2 out of 4 weekends included. The work means you will work alone during some of your shifts.
You drive development work forward together with colleagues according to established goals, methods, quality requirements, and other guidelines. Collaborating with the user's network, other staff, and other partners is also an important part of the work.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma in either the Care and Health Program with specialization in functional disability or psychiatry, the Children and Recreation Program with a focus on social work or pedagogical work, or other equivalent education that the employer deems equivalent.
Alternatively, other equivalent education or experience that the employer deems sufficient.
To work in health and care, you must be at least 18 years old. It is important that you have the ability to meet people professionally based on their individual circumstances and needs. As a person, you are self-directed and stress-tolerant with the individual in focus. You are empathetic and conscientious and work well with others. You have good social skills and are comfortable working in a flexible manner. We place great importance on personal suitability.
You need to feel comfortable working alone.
Experience working within LSS is a merit.
Driver's license B is required for the position.
The job requires sufficient knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing in order to, among other things, communicate with users, perform care documentation, and obtain medication delegation.

In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents are passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID documentation that strengthens citizenship. For some positions, presentation of an extract from the police's suspicion and conviction register is required.
We would like to see language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsviks municipality is part of both Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in a security class, so security vetting may occur.
