Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that, through proximity and cooperation, unlocks and strengthens people's ability to live independent lives. Backenvägen 186 is a group home under the LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) with a focus on social psychiatry. The home accommodates 8 older residents who require support and assistance 24/7 in their daily lives. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team! Your Responsibilities As a support assistant, you will support individuals with mental and physical disabilities in their daily lives. You will provide individualized, social, and practical support to enable and utilize each person's own abilities, thereby creating the conditions for independence. Common tasks include care and support work, assisting with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication management. Your work will also include documentation, record-keeping, and work with implementation plans. The role requires planning and the ability to be pedagogical and solution-focused, as unexpected situations can arise. In daily work, you will spend much time motivating and encouraging residents. We use low-affective approaches in our workplace as there can be instances of threats and violence, primarily verbal. - Working hours are scheduled for day/evening shifts and weekends - Heavy lifting occurs; lifting aids must be used - Smoking takes place at the facility, so you should not have allergies to it - Coordination with other disability care services may take place About You You have a strong ability to collaborate and maintain professional conduct toward residents, family members, and other stakeholders. You are engaged and willing to share our values, work toward established goals, and pursue continuous improvements. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing. Requirements: Trained nursing assistant or other education deemed equivalent by the employer Experience working in care and support, for example in LSS housing or elderly care Meritorious: Experience working with residents in social psychiatry Trained nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry Experience with low-affective approaches in response to threats and violence situations Other Information To ensure that candidates called for interviews best meet the requirements and qualifications for the position, we use screening questions.
