Support Assistant – Humlevägen Group Housing

We are now seeking a support assistant for Humlevägen group housing – a residential facility for people with various disabilities, where you work closely with individuals and provide support in daily life based on their needs. We use alternative and complementary communication methods, such as visual supports and sign language support. This is an important part of our approach and helps create security, predictability, and understanding in everyday life. We also use a low-arousal approach to meet each individual in a calm and respectful manner. Six residents live here, and several of them participate in daily activities programs, but they also have a home day each week. On home days, you accompany the resident on activities such as walks, shopping, coffee breaks, or other errands – always based on the individual's interests, daily condition, and abilities. It is a day where you provide support in both daily routines and meaningful activities, and where you together create structure and security. Your work tasks may include: providing support in daily routines and creating a comprehensible and meaningful day planning and implementing activities, both at home and out in the community working with and developing various communication supports contributing to structure, continuity, and a safe environment documenting and following up interventions based on the individual's needs We are looking for someone who… …is calm, attentive, and has a respectful approach. You create security for others and adapt your way of working to meet the individual's needs. You enjoy motivating and encouraging, and find it easy to see possibilities in both major and minor progress. You have a pedagogical approach and enjoy work where communication and participation are central. This is a permanent position at 80 percent. Training in low-arousal approaches and professional experience are merits. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. This position requires a criminal record extract.
