The Social Services Department's mission is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and participate in society. With a focus on respect for individuals' right to determine their own lives, we are responsible for three important areas: care and nursing, support for people with disabilities, and assistance to individuals and families. Our goal is that everyone receives the support and care they need.

The Workplace
Within the Functional Support Department, there are group homes, day activities, youth and children's residences, and short-term and recreational activities conducted according to the Act on Support and Service (LSS) and relevant authority decisions for each individual user. The department also includes social psychiatric activities conducted according to the Social Services Act (SoL).
Our workplaces are located both in Trelleborg city and town areas, as well as some activities in the municipality's villages and rural areas.
This job posting is for open positions within group homes for adult service users. Some positions are for adults with more comprehensive care needs, while other positions focus on practical and educational support in daily life.

Responsibilities
As a support assistant, you have an important role in providing support and services to users based on individual needs, with a focus on independence, self-determination, and participation. The work is based on relevant authority decisions and the individual's implementation plan, and you work to create security and quality of life through low-affective interaction, structure, clear pedagogy, and good communication.
In your daily work as a support assistant, you provide support and guidance to users in their everyday lives using a pedagogical and practical approach. Using the users' implementation plans as a starting point, you work to establish, implement, and follow up on goals to achieve the highest possible quality and participation for the user in daily life. Support includes assistance with care/hygiene, meal preparation and skills training, as well as recreational activities such as bowling, dancing, and other activities that are important to the user.
The foundation of the work is good and clear communication and good interaction. You work to create calm and security for users in different situations they encounter in their daily lives. You are also a support and create conditions for good contact with relatives, healthcare, and other contacts important to each user. You collaborate primarily with other support assistants, support pedagogues, and management to continuously develop the activities and achieve set goals.

Qualifications
To be suitable for this role, you need to have a secondary school or vocational qualification from a care and nursing program, children's and recreation program, or other equivalent education that the employer considers equivalent. You have professional experience meeting and supporting people with disabilities. You also have good computer skills and the ability to understand and write social documentation in Swedish. You also need good physical ability to carry out and support activities with users.
It is advantageous if you have experience and competence in any of the following areas: planning, implementing, and following up activities for users/patients; work with clear pedagogy; challenging behavior and TAKK; and that you have at least a B driver's license, as the work may require driving on duty. Since four of the six open positions are directed toward group homes for users with greater care needs, it is an advantage if you have experience in care and nursing work.
Personal qualities we consider important for the position are as follows. You are stable and confident in yourself, attentive to the user's needs, and take responsibility and collaborate well with everyone you meet. You adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities rather than obstacles in situations that arise. You use your curiosity and learning to continually improve daily life for our users.
Security Requirements: Before an employment offer, you must provide an acceptable extract from the police criminal record register presented together with identity documents.
