We are seeking a diocesan theologian who with great commitment can drive and develop theology and congregational life in Härnösand Diocese, and contribute to theological deepening and development in the diocese's congregations. At the diocesan office, we work for the benefit of the congregations. We create appropriate and sustainable conditions for being a church today, while also preparing for the church we want to see in the future. We have approximately 50 employees. The position of diocesan theologian is placed in the Faith and Life unit, which currently has 13 employees with different roles in promoting worship, teaching, diakonia, and mission. These include areas such as recruitment, worship development, church music, baptism and confirmation, Sámi church life, pilgrimage, institutional chaplaincy, pastoral care, The Church of Sweden's youth and ideals. Duties As a diocesan theologian, you will work with theological reflection, both in relation to congregational life and in dialogue with the wider world. Pilgrimage theology, climate theology, Sámi church life, spiritual deepening, and theology concerning vocation in the church and in congregations are priority areas. The position also includes following theological research. Your work will include: inspiring theological conversations in various contexts assisting the diocese's congregations and pastorates in their theological reflection supporting the bishop in the diocese's theological work working with matters such as consultations on doctrinal questions participating in various working groups and events organized by the diocese. The position includes the opportunity for 20 percent theological research for Härnösand Diocese. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has the ability to raise interest in and spread knowledge about theological matters in an engaged manner. Furthermore, you have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently and take responsibility for your tasks. You thrive working toward set goals and focusing on results. As a person, you are persistent and can work until results are achieved. You are a skilled educator when it comes to conveying knowledge. We place great importance on personal suitability. Requirements You have a doctorate in a subject appropriate for the position. Experience in relevant research. Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Main working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday with the possibility of remote work up to two days per week. Travel for work may occur, sometimes with overnight stays.
