Job Responsibilities
As an employee of the Sterilization Unit, you will work together with your colleagues to ensure we deliver safe and high-quality sterile products to our customers within and outside Region Halland.
Main responsibilities:
• Reception and cleaning of instruments
• Packaging and sterilization of instruments
• Quality inspections and documentation verification
• Preparing deliveries for customers
Working hours vary for this position as we operate during daytime as well as evening hours, with possible night work available if interested.
As a temporary hourly employee, you will be scheduled with short notice to cover absences of regular staff. You may also be scheduled with longer advance notice for planned training or during regular staff's time off.
About the Workplace
The Sterilization Unit is part of the Operations and Intensive Care Clinic in Varberg. The unit consists of three service locations in Varberg, Halmstad, and Kungsbacka.
Our team in Varberg consists of sterilizer technicians/nursing assistants. The operation also includes a technical coordinator and a department manager who divide their working time between the service locations. Support is provided by a coordinator who is responsible for, among other things, distributing staff to our different stations and booking temporary staff as needed.
The unit's main mission is to deliver sterile products to our customers within Region Halland as well as to our private customers.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is either a trained sterilizer technician or nearing completion of training, or alternatively has a nursing assistant degree. Prior experience working in sterilization operations is considered an advantage.
At work, you are part of a team, so it is important that you have good teamwork skills, but also that you take responsibility for your part of the whole and understand the importance of our workflows. As a person, you are calm and accommodating in your interactions. You organize and prioritize work efficiently while being thorough and meeting the operation's quality standards. We also value that you are comfortable with computers and would appreciate technical interest.
Strong proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
