Company Description VB Energikoncernen is an environmentally and occupationally certified energy company headquartered in Ludvika. The company, with approximately 85 employees, operates district heating, electricity distribution, and hydroelectric power stations. The company is owned by Ludvika Municipality and Fagersta Municipality. About the Role Help build tomorrow's in-house maintenance organization – with the option of home-based work Starting in the 2026/2027 fiscal year, Västerbergslagens Elnät will bring a larger portion of operations in-house. We will then be responsible for most of the station maintenance, ongoing maintenance of the distribution network, and implementation of smaller investment and reinvestment projects with our own staff. To succeed with this initiative, we are now building a strong internal organization and are looking for, among others, two station technicians who want to join the journey and develop the electricity grid of the future in Västerbergslagen. Do you want to work with some of Västerbergslagens' most important electrical installations while having great freedom in your daily work? We are now looking for two Station Technicians who want to help develop, maintain, and future-proof our approximately 20 stations within voltage levels of 20–130 kV. The role offers the possibility of home-based work and suits you if you want to combine advanced technology, independent work, and great social benefit. Within Västerbergslagens Elnät, we are approximately 35 employees working together to ensure a safe, sustainable, and reliable power supply for our customers. We are investing heavily in our electricity grid, modernizing stations, and using new technology to meet future demands for electrification, robustness, and preparedness. Your Tasks As a Station Technician, you will work with supervision, maintenance, troubleshooting, and development of our grid, distribution, and regional network stations. The work includes both preventive maintenance and fault repair and participation in reconstructions, modernizations, and new investments. The role involves close collaboration with the control center, maintenance engineer, project organization, contractors, and external specialists. You will, among other things: - Perform supervision, continuous inspections, and maintenance at our stations. - Work with indoor and outdoor switchgear, circuit breakers, disconnectors, power transformers, and auxiliary systems. - Perform functional tests, simple troubleshooting, operational inspections, and reporting. - Work with monitoring and surveillance equipment, alarms, signals, and communications equipment. - Perform ongoing battery and direct current maintenance. - Participate in reconstruction, modernization, and new installation of stations. - Document and report completed work in a correct and clear manner. - Participate in emergency work and fault repair during disruptions. - Collaborate with contractors and specialist suppliers for larger maintenance operations. Home-Based Work We know that expertise exists in many places in and around our operating area. Therefore, we offer the possibility of home-based work for the right candidate. You work from your place of residence within or near our grid area and plan parts of your work together with your manager and colleagues. We provide service vehicles, work equipment, and digital tools that make it possible to work efficiently with our facilities without having to operate daily from the head office in Ludvika. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: - Electrical engineering education from upper secondary school, vocational college, or equivalent. - Experience from electricity distribution, industry, power, or high-voltage installations. - Good understanding of electrical safety and work in electrical installations. - Class B driver's license. - Good knowledge of Swedish. It is advantageous if you have experience with: - Stations within 20–130 kV. - Switchgear, power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, or control systems. - Relay protection, station automation, or SCADA systems. - ESA, EBR, and work in the electricity distribution industry. - Troubleshooting in power or industrial electrical installations.
