Description The City Management Office is responsible for the leadership, governance, and coordination of Gothenburg's operations. This mandate includes the city's work on security and civil preparedness, including the protection of the administration's protected objects and critical societal functions. Given a changed security situation and increased demands for robustness, continuity, and control, we are now implementing a long-term strengthening of our internal capacity in surveillance and protection. As part of this effort, we are seeking four security guards for employment directly with the City Management Office. Duties As a security guard with us, you have an important societal mission with responsibility for surveillance and protection of the City Management Office's protected objects, in accordance with the Protection Act (2010:305) and applicable decisions regarding protected objects. As a security guard, your task is to protect operations against sabotage, espionage, terrorism, and similar threats. At the same time, you serve in reception, which involves responsibility for offering a welcoming manner and high level of service, and being a good ambassador for the City of Gothenburg. The work demands high ability to balance these responsibilities. The assignment includes, among other things: Access control, authorization checks, and reception duties. Security and access control in connection with City Council meetings. Stationary surveillance, patrols, and alarm and incident management within the administration's facilities. Reporting of security-related incidents and management of technical security systems. Actively contributing to the office's overall security, protection, and preparedness work. Duties are scheduled, primarily during daytime hours. Qualifications You should have security guard training that is not older than five years. You should have at least three years of continuous and current experience working as a security guard/at a protected object, or other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should have approved training for service weapons and the prerequisites to be granted a loan authorization/weapons license through the Police Authority. You have good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. For this position, you need to have a class B driver's license. As a person, you are stable, secure, and possess a high level of security awareness. You have a well-developed social and communicative ability, are service-oriented, and can act professionally and trustworthily when meeting with politicians, officials, and the public. At the same time, you have the ability to make quick, resolute decisions and set clear boundaries when the situation requires it. Terms Employment is conditional on necessary decisions regarding expanded operations. Since the position is security-classified, a security vetting under the Security Protection Act may be conducted, which among other things means you must give consent to a background check conducted by the Security Police before you are offered potential employment.
