Everything from finances to HR, IT, development and digitalization, legal affairs, security and emergency preparedness, communications, and business development. This means we create the conditions for the municipality's operations—both political bodies and other administrations—to be able to offer the best possible service. We do this through strategic management, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement. As one of our city lawyers is moving on to new challenges, we are looking for a new colleague. If you are the person we are seeking, you will be placed in the City Administration's Legal Affairs and Administrative Governance Department and report directly to the Department Head/Chief Legal Counsel. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES We are looking for someone who wants to work with complex and varied legal matters with a clear societal focus. City lawyers shall provide legal support to the City Council across all areas of law to guide the City Council and city management in governing the municipality and its corporate group. Additionally, city lawyers can provide direct support, guidance, and assistance to the municipality's committees, departments, and companies when requested. A particularly important part of the assignment is to contribute legal expertise in the city's digital development and use of AI. As a city lawyer, you will work across many different areas of law within the city. Recurring issues include matters of public disclosure and confidentiality, legal questions related to digitalization, IT, data and information management, as well as municipal and administrative law. Other areas particularly relevant for the position are property law, procurement law, contract law, and corporate law. You will receive support from your colleagues in the legal unit and administrative lawyers in the city with expertise in various specialized areas of law, and you will be part of both internal and external lawyer networks. Your duties include, among other things, legal advice, training initiatives, legal investigations, as well as drafting, interpreting, and reviewing agreements. You may also participate as a legal expert in various projects and serve as representative for Mölndals stad in negotiations and legal proceedings. The work also includes qualified investigative work, drafting of policy documents, responses to consultations, and statements. QUALIFICATIONS You have a law degree and several years of experience in qualified legal work. You have broad legal knowledge and can work across multiple areas of law. The areas of law mentioned under job duties are of particular interest. You work independently, methodically, carefully, and with a solutions-oriented approach. Furthermore, you master the art of working with many different cases simultaneously, can make quick decisions, and do not become stressed by having to reprioritize your work when the situation requires it. You have a holistic perspective and a very strong ability to express yourself orally and in writing. The work also requires a strong ability to create and maintain good relationships, while having high integrity. Court experience and experience with legal work in public operations or at a law firm are meriting, as is experience with politically governed activities. It is particularly meriting if you have experience in or in-depth knowledge and interest in IT law and legal matters related to digitalization and AI, including generative AI.
