If so, the City Attorney position with us might be perfect for you! Who are we? The Legal and Investigation Unit is part of the Municipal Director's Office. The Municipal Director's Office is responsible for providing support to all of the municipality's operations in areas such as finance, HR, administration, as well as safety and security, and works closely with the municipality's political leadership. We provide legal services and investigation support to the municipality's elected officials and civil servants. The unit also houses the municipality's data protection officer. Here you will find colleagues with high competence and the opportunity to work together to contribute to the development and quality of Norrköpings kommun. We are looking for a City Attorney who, in close cooperation with the municipality's other lawyers, will provide legal support, advice, and information to elected officials and civil servants within our own municipality as well as to certain neighboring municipalities. Your responsibilities As a City Attorney in the Legal and Investigation Unit, you will work with legal advice and legal investigations across the entire municipal organization and cooperating municipalities. You will participate in case preparation, plan and conduct training sessions, and participate in the development of governing documents. You will represent the municipality in court and before other authorities, follow legal developments in areas that affect the municipality, and monitor legal certainty issues in the office's case handling. As a City Attorney, you are prepared to handle all areas of law without any particular specialization. Who are you? We are looking for someone with a law degree, an LL.M. in business law, or an equivalent degree that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience with legal work in public administration such as a municipality, state agency, or court. Since the unit already consists of lawyers with many years of experience, we also welcome applicants who have recently started their careers to apply for this position with us. We are looking for someone who can quickly grasp different legal issues and has legal knowledge, particularly in municipal and administrative law as well as public access to information and confidentiality. You have a consultative approach and are engaged in your professional role. You have the ability to take your own initiative and drive matters independently or together with other colleagues. You enjoy collaborating with others and building good and long-term relationships both within and outside the organization. You structure complex issues and communicate solutions in a clear and educational way, both verbally and in writing. You are a good analyst who can solve legal issues in a constructive and efficient way. You are flexible and adaptable because the position often involves unpredictable working days where reprioritization is necessary. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
