We are now looking for a city architect and planning architect who, through knowledge, dialogue, and collaboration, wants to contribute to the municipality's development. You will have a combined role where you work with strategic architecture and design issues as well as process detailed plans. You will be part of the planning unit at the municipal development administration. Your closest colleagues consist of planning architects, overview planners, development engineer, property manager, GIS engineer, and surveying engineers. Together we work on the municipality's long-term development, from strategic planning and early ideas to detailed planning and implementation. As a city architect, you contribute specialized expertise in architecture, design, and urban development. As a planning architect, you are simultaneously part of the operational planning work and are responsible for processing and driving detailed plans from initiation to adoption. You will have close collaboration with the planning director, planning architects, overview planners, and other colleagues at the municipal development administration. WORK TASKS The position is a combined role as city architect and planning architect. The distribution between the roles is adapted based on the municipality's needs and current planning assignments. As a city architect, you are a qualified resource in matters concerning architecture, design, and the built environment. You contribute perspectives, assessments, and guidance at various stages of the municipality's development and have an important function in creating consensus on design issues. As a planning architect, you work concretely with the municipality's detailed planning. You are responsible for your own planning assignments and drive the planning process forward in dialogue with stakeholders and in close collaboration with the municipality's various experts. The role suits you if you want to combine the architect's holistic perspective and design expertise with concrete work on detailed plans. As a city architect and planning architect, you will, among other things: - Process and drive detailed plans through various stages of the planning process, from planning notification and initiation to consultation, review, and adoption. - Provide qualified support in design issues and architectural assessments within the planning, building permit, and development process, as well as in matters concerning property development. - Be a knowledge resource in matters concerning architecture and design, where you can make qualified assessments of building placement, scale, volume, structure, materials, and design based on the site's conditions. - Strategically contribute to the municipality's work with architecture and design issues, where one of the tasks is updating the municipality's architecture and cultural environment program. - Support the municipality's work with overview planning through advice on architecture and design issues. - Contribute architectural expertise to the internal business group working to strengthen the municipality's business development. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is attentive, humble, and collaboration-oriented. You are confident in your expertise and enjoy sharing your knowledge, while remaining curious about others' perspectives and experiences. You value dialogue and have the ability to build trusting and confident relationships. You see the value of working together with different professions and understand that the municipality's development is shaped through interaction between many actors, interests, and perspectives. In the role as city architect and planning architect, you need to be able to switch between strategic and operational perspectives. You can make qualified architectural and design assessments while enjoying independently driving planning processes and handling the trade-offs and issues that arise in detailed planning work. You are organized and solution-oriented with the ability to manage complex processes. At the same time, you are unpretentious and see the value of seeking help from and collaborating with other experts. You can adapt your working approach to the context and contribute to constructive solutions and a trustful work climate. You have: - Architecture education from a college or university or other education that we consider equivalent. - Good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and the planning process. - Experience processing and driving detailed plans. - Experience working with architecture, urban development, and design issues. - Ability to make qualified architectural and urban development assessments. - Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. - Good experience independently planning, structuring, and driving your work tasks and processes forward.
