We are looking for someone who enjoys independent and varied work, takes pride in maintaining order, and can see what needs to be done. This position involves responsibility for the daily maintenance of our facilities, including offices, teaching spaces, conference rooms, common areas, and an experimental hall. Since you will work in our public environments, you will meet many of our visitors, so you need to be social and able to communicate with both adults and children. The position will also include work as a host/hostess in our café, kitchen, shop, reception, and exhibition area every 4th weekend.
Your tasks will include:
Daily cleaning
Deep cleaning as needed
Furniture arrangement and facility setup for various activities and events
Laundry
Waste sorting and recycling management
Hosting in our public environments. Welcoming our visitors, light kitchen work, cash handling, and maintaining order in our exhibition spaces
Other practical tasks that may arise in the operation.
This is an independent and varied role where you plan much of your own workday. By keeping track of our activity calendar, you will see which activities, bookings, and events are coming up and can plan and prioritize your tasks accordingly. This work suits someone who is self-directed, takes responsibility, and is good at identifying what needs to be done without always needing tasks assigned.
The work is physically demanding and may involve heavy lifting, so we expect candidates to be in good physical condition.
This is a part-time position at 70% and is primarily scheduled for mornings Monday-Friday plus every 4th weekend.
In our organization, no two days are the same, so other practical tasks may come up. You should be someone who enjoys helping where needed and appreciates work with varied responsibilities.
