The Heart Care Services Department at Sunderby Hospital is a comprehensive unit that includes a cardiology outpatient clinic/pacemaker clinic, clinical physiology, inpatient care through the cardiology ward and cardiac intensive care unit, as well as cardiac day care/PCI/pacemaker surgery. We are now seeking an ST physician in cardiology to join our dedicated team. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop into a competent cardiologist with a structured training program, dedicated supervisors, and broad clinical patient experience.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a licensed physician with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare who has completed foundation training (BT) or general practice training (AT). Swedish language proficiency at a minimum of level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is required. Previous experience in cardiology is a merit but not required.
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. As a person, you have good collaboration skills as you value and recognize the benefits of working with others. You make sound judgments and prioritizations.
What You'll Be Working With
Cardiology is a broad and varied specialty with close collaboration with adjacent specialties and intensive care in managing patients with acute and chronic heart diseases. The work includes the cardiac ward, cardiac intensive care unit, and outpatient clinic services. Sunderby Hospital also has a unit where we perform coronary interventions, conduct invasive diagnostics, and implant most types of pacemaker systems.
As the regional hospital for Region Norrbotten, we are responsible for evaluation and treatment of a wide spectrum of cardiovascular diseases, including ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and hereditary cardiovascular conditions. We work closely with the university hospitals in the region for patients requiring highly specialized care such as advanced arrhythmia treatment and cardiac surgery.
As an ST physician in cardiology, you will: Participate in development work, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching, and conduct methodological work under the supervision of specialist physicians. Follow a structured ST program in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's objectives.

We offer you a permanent full-time position; on-call duties during daytime hours are included in the position. Start date by mutual agreement.
