About Us
The Geriatrics Section is part of the Department of Internal Medicine, which is the largest clinic in the region, offering the advantages of a medium-sized hospital with both breadth and specialized expertise. Our activities include geriatrics, general internal medicine including acute care at the emergency department and acute care ward (AVA), nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology, hematology, gastroenterology, palliative care and SSIH, neurology, and stroke care.
The Geriatrics Section operates a well-functioning inpatient ward and a highly reputable outpatient clinic with a focus on cognitive medicine.
Our goal is to develop geriatric care with a mobile team, expand acute geriatric care beds, and receive general geriatric outpatient patients.
We work in teams that include nursing assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, social workers, neuropsychologists, and physicians. The work environment is pleasant in bright, recently renovated facilities. The department is Silvia-certified, which is evident in our daily care work. Our physician group in geriatrics enjoys working together, supporting one another, and leveraging each other's diverse knowledge.
Your Responsibilities
As a resident physician in geriatrics, you will complete your base training in our geriatrics section. Working alongside senior consultants or specialists, you will care for and be responsible for our ward's patients, which includes 16 beds. You will work closely with other specialists to ensure a holistic approach to care, from diagnostics and treatment to rehabilitation and preventive measures. Your work will alternate between outpatient clinic activities and standard ward work. During your common trunk rotation, you will work in other departments within the Department of Internal Medicine and share on-call responsibilities with other resident physicians.
Your Qualifications
We are seeking a licensed physician with an interest in geriatrics who wishes to begin as a resident or senior resident physician. Employment Terms
Permanent position at 100%. Start date by mutual agreement.
