Resident Physician in Internal Medicine – From Broad Internal Medicine to Intermediate Care
The Acute Internal Medicine Clinic (AIM) is a developing operation with the mission to provide inpatient care for patients with acute internal medical conditions. The clinic consists of a care unit with internal medicine beds, an intermediate care unit (MIMA), and a specialist clinic for coagulation and bleeding disorders. Our Offering With a clear goal to deliver the highest quality care, we are driving development toward an efficient care pathway where each patient receives the right intervention at the right time. At the same time, we actively work to ensure our employees have a sustainable work environment, strong cohesion, and the best conditions to develop and perform their work with high quality. With trusted and present leadership, we build a safe and accessible care environment where every employee's contribution makes a difference. With us, you will receive broad and well-structured specialist training in internal medicine with a focus on clinical development, mentorship, and progressively increased responsibility. You are offered an individualized training program with a personal mentor, excellent opportunities for courses and rotations, and regular feedback throughout your residency. You will work across acute internal medicine and develop specialized expertise in intermediate care as well as coagulation and bleeding disorders. An important part of the training is service on our intermediate care unit (MIMA), where you gain experience managing severely ill internal medicine patients and develop your ability to make medical decisions in complex situations. AIM is a teaching clinic where medical students, AT residents, BT residents, and ST residents from other specialties regularly work. This creates a stimulating learning environment where teaching, mentorship, and knowledge exchange are a natural part of daily work. We believe we develop together – both by learning from each other and by teaching others. Feel free to read more about our career pathway for physicians and also about your benefits with us; you will also find information about salary and compensation provisions here. Job Description With us, you will encounter the full breadth of acute internal medicine – from common internal medical conditions to patients with complex multimorbidity and a need for intermediate care. Work is conducted in multidisciplinary teams together with nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. You will progressively gain increased medical responsibility and excellent opportunities to develop your clinical independence. Training includes ward work, on-call work in intermediate care, outpatient clinic work, and rotations according to the training objectives. Teaching, mentorship, and improvement work are a natural part of the position. As part of your specialist training, you will also conduct an improvement project and a scientific work, with support and mentorship from the clinic. Work Team With us, specialists, residents, and junior physicians work together in an open and unpretentious work environment. Because we are a teaching clinic, you will also encounter medical students, AT residents, BT residents, and rotating ST residents in daily work. We view education and mentorship as a natural part of the operation and believe that knowledge develops best when it is shared. The clinic currently has ten resident physicians who form an important part of our operations and continued development.
