The clinic encompasses a Geriatric Acute Care Unit (GAVA) with 20 beds, the Cognitive Specialist Clinic, the Parkinson's Clinic, and physician responsibility for rounds at the municipality's short-term care facilities. The combination of inpatient care, specialist clinics, and close collaboration with municipal healthcare provides you with a broad and varied clinical training environment. Job Description As a Resident Physician with us, you will work, under supervision and with progressively increasing independence, on assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of elderly patients with complex medical conditions. Your appointment will be planned according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's objectives, your individual training plan, and the operation's conditions. You will serve in the clinic's various operational areas and complete relevant side appointments as part of your specialist training. You work closely with the clinic's other professions and collaborate with primary care, municipal health and medical services, and other specialist clinics. The assignment includes participation in the clinic's educational activities, quality improvement work, and operational development. You will receive support from supervisors, the study director, specialist colleagues, and the multidisciplinary team during your development toward specialist competence. On-call duties are included in the internal medicine on-call lines, and weekend service at GAVA during periods when you as an ST resident are not on rotation. Work Team At the clinic, specialist physicians, resident physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, and healthcare administrators work in multidisciplinary teams. About You We are looking for someone who is a licensed physician and who wants to complete specialist training in geriatrics. Previous experience in geriatrics, internal medicine, or other related fields is a merit. You have a genuine interest in elderly patients and appreciate the breadth of geriatric medicine. You enjoy working in a team, have good collaboration skills, and contribute to a positive work environment. If you have not completed AT (general training) or have approved basic competence according to BT, there is the possibility to do BT during the first year of employment. As a person, you are responsible, curious, and flexible. You have the ability to see the whole picture around the patient's needs and take active responsibility for your learning and professional development. You are also interested in contributing to the continued development of the operation through quality improvement work and knowledge exchange. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
