Are you engaged and curious, and do you want a challenging job in control systems and programming at a company that strives toward a more sustainable world? Then this job might be for you!
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet's future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges that connect our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that releases the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and have committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be instrumental in realizing this goal and thereby contributing to a green transformation of the entire steel industry.
About the Position
You will work together with your colleagues on system solutions, including new designs and modifications/updates of existing control systems, problem-solving, facility development, and commissioning of new machines in our facilities. You will mainly participate in two different workflows in the form of projects and work order processes.
Collaboration with production departments/sections is important, and your main points of contact will consist of maintenance technicians, operations technicians, and external suppliers, internal personnel, and contractors.
You will be part of the Technical Systems section in the Technical Sheet Metal department. The group consists of approximately 19 systems engineers/engineers working with the Rolling Mill's facilities. We work in area groups where mechanical, electrical, and systems teams work together toward three different production departments. We offer you developing and stimulating days where you, individually or together with other engineers, are responsible for systems design and automation of machines and facilities within the Rolling Mill. With us, you have the opportunity to stay close to reality and follow projects from idea to commissioning.
Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
