Your new job Jönköping Municipality is undertaking a unique initiative focused on language development in our preschools and primary schools. Working as a language pedagogue at one of our 15 primary schools that have language pedagogue positions is part of this initiative. As a language pedagogue, you will work collaboratively to develop instruction in preschool class, Grade 1, and after-school care, with work based on the school's needs and student results. You will work from a centrally developed job description and develop your school-specific assignment together with the principal. Your work will include leading and supporting collegial development processes based on research and proven experience to increase the school unit's expertise in language, reading, and writing development. You will also support students in preschool class and Grade 1 at the group level in their language, reading, and writing development and work with the teaching team on targeted interventions. Based on a language plan developed by the municipality, you will ensure that instruction in preschool class and Grade 1 is grounded in scientific evidence and proven practice. We would appreciate it if you have experience teaching Swedish as a second language. We see that you have experience working with language development and driving development initiatives in schools. You have experience improving student academic results and a strong interest in developing instruction. You possess good analytical abilities and have the courage to take action to drive change. As a person, you find it easy to build trusting relationships. Good to know The language pedagogue position is a permanent employment with vacation relief and flexible hours within the Education Administration of Jönköping Municipality, based at Råslättsskolan.
