The Department of Children and Education works on behalf of the Preschool Board and Primary School Board. The department is responsible for preschool activities, school childcare, primary school, and adapted primary school. The student wellness team consists of a principal, assistant principal, special education teachers, special education specialists, school nurse, school psychologist, school counselor, and social pedagogue. About the Position As a special education teacher at Vistaskolan, you are a natural part of the student wellness team together with the principal, assistant principal, school counselor, school nurse, safety officer, and school psychologist. You work in a preventive and promoting manner with a focus on ensuring all students progress as far as possible in their learning development. The role involves a combination of direct student-centered work and a strategic assignment. You teach students, but also coach colleagues, support teaching teams, and coordinate interventions for students in need of support. You are an important leader in the school's development work and are expected to actively contribute to developing teaching and learning environments. We are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility, lead processes, and thrives in a role where you can influence and make a real difference. You need to be a team player who can and dares to guide colleagues forward. You have a salutogenic approach, see possibilities and strengths in students, and actively work to create accessible, inclusive learning environments. If you have expertise in Swedish as a second language, this is highly desirable. Your Profile We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher with a focus on grades 1–3 and trained as a special education teacher with experience teaching in lower primary school. You have good knowledge and are confident in implementing the curriculum in practice. You express yourself very well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and see documentation as a natural part of your work. To succeed in the role, we see that you: Have experience in special education and working with educational assessments, extra adjustments, and intervention plans Have good digital skills, preferably with experience in systems such as V-class and Prorenata Have an interest in and preferably experience working with students with other native languages Have good analytical skills and can analyze results at both individual and group levels You are a confident and clear pedagogical leader who creates good relationships and a learning environment characterized by safety, order, and high expectations. You enjoy collaboration and actively contribute to collegial learning and school development. As a person, you are flexible, solution-focused, and communicative. You have an easy time collaborating with students, guardians, and colleagues and are driven by creating the best possible conditions for each student. Meritorious Experience driving and developing early, preventive initiatives within language, reading, and writing development is desirable, as is having implemented group-level interventions at younger ages. We would like to see that you have worked with research-based methods, coaching of educators, and systematic follow-up of student learning to strengthen goal achievement and reduce the need for later support measures.
