Grow and develop with us
Grow and develop with us. In fall 2026, Haninge Municipality opened a brand new resource school, and we're now seeking a Special Education Teacher who wants to help build a school where students with comprehensive support needs have the best possible conditions to succeed. The school is centrally located in Handen, close to the commuter train station. The new resource school replaces previously decentralized learning studios throughout the municipality, with the goal of bringing together expertise and resources under one roof to create a more cohesive and powerful operation.
Your assignment
As a special education teacher, your role is to work together with other student support professionals to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning. The work is preventive, promoting, and intervention-based. You're an integral part of reaching each student and collaborate with others at the school. You also take initiative in contacting both students and guardians. You're an active participant in students' school days and are present in both learning situations and social breaks with students. You're also essential in developing educational assessments and intervention plans as well as other relevant student documentation.
You'll work at the individual, group, and organizational levels and will be heavily involved in work surrounding individual students and teaching groups to create a functioning and sustainable school environment. The work includes observations, consultation, and coaching for staff. Together with other professionals in student support, you collaborate with relevant external contacts, with the aim of supporting student learning and contributing your special education perspective.
