We are looking for a special education teacher who with commitment and drive wants to develop learning together with our teachers, so that our students feel secure, develop, and reach their goals. Job Responsibilities As a special education teacher with us, you work at individual, group, and organizational levels to create and develop good learning environments and conditions for all students to develop toward the school's learning goals. You have a central role in the student welfare team and you will work together with two other special education teachers, special education instructors, counselors, school nurses, school physicians, school psychologists, and school leadership. You support teachers by conducting consultations, classroom observations, and participating in team meetings. You assist in adapting and developing teaching materials and teaching methods based on the needs of groups and individual students. You also conduct direct interventions where you work with students in groups or serve as dedicated support for individual students. This means that together with your team and students, you map out both support and challenge needs, and participate in planning, implementing, and following up on various adaptations and measures. You participate in the unit's pedagogical development work. It is therefore of great importance that you stay updated on the latest research so that you can apply it to the activities. We offer you meaningful work with the opportunity to develop your pedagogical skills and the chance to participate in the school's training initiatives regarding language-development approaches. Furthermore, you are expected to be responsible for planning and leading certain training and mentoring of staff together with school leadership. About the School Bergsgårdsskolan is an F-6 elementary school and adapted elementary school grades 1-6. The school is located in Hjällbo with immediate proximity to natural areas and five minutes from Hjällbo tram stop. The school has two parallel classes and approximately 70 students in the adapted elementary school grades 1-6. The school has an experienced student welfare team with school nurse, counselor, special education instructor, and psychologist who are always available to support the work. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a certified teacher and further educated as a special education teacher. It is of great importance that you are dedicated to your work and have a positive attitude toward students. You contribute to creating good learning environments and conditions for student learning. You also have good knowledge of current governing documents, students' rights to special support, and the development of intervention plans. Since communication and documentation are part of the position, you must have good Swedish language skills both orally and in writing. You see the competent child and create work methods and contexts that give all students the opportunity to succeed. As a person, you like to take your own initiative and have a flexibility that allows you to adapt your work methods based on the situation, in order to meet students' needs.
