Alströmergymnasiet in Alingsås Municipality is one of Western Sweden's largest upper secondary schools with approximately 1,450 students distributed across 11 national programs, adapted upper secondary education, and introductory programs. Educational activities are divided into seven sectors, each with a principal as head, and together we are just over 220 employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
For us, it is important that our students always feel secure that Alströmergymnasiet provides the teaching that strengthens them in realizing themselves and their life goals. As a special education teacher, you have a key role in working together with teaching teachers, mentors and work teams, as well as the school's special education teachers and other student support services in helping and guiding students to achieve an upper secondary diploma and benefit from teaching in the best possible way based on each student's circumstances.
You will work in Sector 3, which is one of six school units at Alströmergymnasiet and currently consists of the Child and Leisure Program, the Aesthetic Program, and the Social Studies Program. The assignment includes supporting teachers in pedagogical work as well as working with improvements and development in line with current research and systematic quality work.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is:
• educated as a special education teacher
It is advantageous if you have:
• previous experience working at an upper secondary school
• specialization in difficulties with mathematics and/or reading development
We believe you have a good understanding of how students acquire knowledge and how different circumstances affect learning. You adapt your support and communication to the recipient and situation, and see opportunities and paths forward through a flexible approach. Through good collaboration skills, you contribute in interactions with students, teaching teachers, parents/guardians, and other professionals to create good conditions for learning and development together.
