Special Education Teacher Needed for Skolfam Helsingborg
One of our wonderful special education teachers is retiring, so we are now seeking a special education teacher who wants to make a difference for children in foster care in Helsingborg. About the Workplace In Helsingborg, student welfare works together with social services to oversee Skolfam. Each team consists of a special education teacher, a psychologist, the child's child welfare secretary, and a foster care secretary. The special education teachers and psychologists are part of student welfare while having their physical workspace at social services. Special education teachers participate in APT and other development meetings with special education teachers and speech-language pathologists who work within student welfare's operational support. Job Responsibilities Skolfam is a preventive work model designed to strengthen school outcomes for children in foster care. The Skolfam model is based on preventive work, interdisciplinary collaboration, child participation, and measurable results. The model is manual-driven and scientifically evaluated. Planning: The plan describes interventions to close knowledge gaps, optimal challenge in schoolwork, and to help the child achieve as much as possible given their abilities. Monitoring: During the work, the child's school development is continuously monitored. Evaluation: After two to four years, the assessment is repeated. The goal is always for the child to become eligible to apply to a national upper secondary program. Each team has approximately 24 children connected to it. The children are primarily placed in municipalities near Helsingborg, though some placements occur in municipalities outside Helsingborg. The work therefore involves some travel. You are a licensed teacher with the right to teach Swedish and mathematics. You are thoroughly familiar with and have experience performing the tasks specified in the special education teacher's examination regulations. You are well versed in pedagogical assessment and can use results to influence pedagogical development. You have extensive experience assessing students' knowledge in Swedish and mathematics and can use results to influence pedagogical development. You have experience supporting and coaching educators and other professionals in the school environment. You view systematic monitoring, analysis, and evaluation as an integral part of the work. You are structured and well-organized as a person and find it easy to meet people with different abilities and backgrounds from a salutogenic perspective. You take responsibility for your assignment and are driven by challenges and development work. You work well in teams and see the team as a strength for achieving goals.
