You will be part of an engaged and competent student welfare team that includes school counselors, school nurse, special education teacher, special education instructor, and school psychologist. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a special education teacher, you are an important part of the student welfare team, working to promote and prevent challenges by creating an accessible learning environment and supporting students with special needs. You work across the entire school, from preschool class through year 6, contributing your expertise and supporting your colleagues in pedagogical work.
Your responsibilities include conducting special education assessments and providing special education consultation to teachers. You follow up on intervention plans together with homeroom teachers and subject teachers. Coaching and consultation for work teams and individual colleagues is also an important part of the role.
You also maintain contact with guardians and external contacts, such as BUP. The role includes conducting educational assessments and participating in student welfare activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and either a special education degree, ongoing special education training to be completed in the near future, or extensive socialpedagogical experience that the employer considers relevant for the position.
You have experience teaching at elementary or middle school level. It is highly desirable if you have experience working as a special education teacher or special education instructor. It is also desirable if you have experience with educational documentation, such as assessments, educational evaluations, and intervention plans.
