About the Position We are looking for someone who wants to work with special education tasks and serve as a team leader in a skilled student support team in close collaboration with the principal. As a special education teacher, you will meet and support students facing various challenges and provide support to teachers and mentors. You will work systematically and preventively with issues that arise in ongoing school operations. Assessment and follow-up of students' academic situations and support needs are part of the role, as is actively conducting promotion, prevention, and intervention measures at the individual, group, and organizational levels. As a special education teacher, you work closely with the school's leadership and staff. External contacts with authorities also occur. You will be part of a strong and engaged student support team characterized by openness and close collaboration. Our schools work with learning and development within shared focus areas. These areas fall under three main categories: pedagogy, health, and civic engagement. We develop what, according to science and proven experience, has a positive impact on the learning situation, on work for students' health, and on enabling our students to enter the world with strong civic engagement. All lessons are continuous and long, 120-180 minutes of instruction with breaks dividing the session. Lessons follow a structured format with clear goals and purposes and vary in teaching methods. Qualifications For this position, we expect you to have adequate higher education and completed special education teacher training or special education specialist training. It is an asset if you have previously led student support work and worked as a team leader. To succeed in this role, you are confident in coaching pedagogical staff and informing about appropriate working methods for students who need adjustments and support.
