Your Role With Us Special Education Teacher As a special education teacher, you work with in-depth knowledge of language, writing and reading development/mathematics development with a focus on the individual level. You use special education methods to plan, prepare and conduct instruction and support students based on their specific difficulties. You conduct and document assessments, investigations and various forms of pedagogical tests aimed at increasing understanding of students' difficulties in schoolwork. As a special education teacher, you also contribute your expertise in pedagogical investigations, adaptations and intervention programs. You work to eliminate obstacles and difficulties in the learning environment, develop alternative learning environments and learning tools. You are a qualified discussion partner on matters concerning children's and students' language, writing and reading development/mathematics development in team work as well as in student welfare teams. Special Pedagogue Based on analyses at the individual, group and organizational levels, you work in a mentoring capacity with a focus on group and organization. You actively contribute to qualified discussions about learning situations and development of the school environment together with the principal, work teams and student welfare teams. You also support educators in structuring their work to facilitate students' learning situations. With a salutogenic approach, you contribute to health-promoting and preventive work. In your work, you create relationships both internally and externally that are characterized by mutual respect and trust, and you meet students where they are. You engage, enthuse and stimulate students towards learning and personal responsibility, and you lead and organize work so that a safe learning environment is created based on mutual respect and collaboration. You systematically reflect on and evaluate practical work individually and together with others. Your responsibilities also include planning, prioritizing and taking responsibility for your own time and development. Who Are We Looking For? For the special education teacher position, you must have teacher certification with authority to conduct instruction as a special education teacher regarding special support in grades 1-3 in primary school, as well as a special education teacher degree with specialization in language, writing and reading development/mathematics development. You also need teacher certification with authority to conduct instruction in grades 1-3. For the special pedagogue position, you must have a special education degree and teacher certification for grades 1-3 in primary school. It is advantageous if you have teacher certification with authority to teach in preschool class. The assignment requires that you have 3 years of well-documented work experience with instruction within the school system and experience teaching in primary school, grades 1-3. As a special education teacher, you also need the ability to apply in-depth knowledge of language, writing and reading development/mathematics development. As a special pedagogue, you need well-documented ability to mentor. Further, you need strong ability to implement the organization's mission regarding students in need of special support as well as knowledge of how to adapt work methods and approaches to different groups' and individuals' conditions. Of course, you are well familiar with current research and have good knowledge of alternative learning tools. You have good knowledge of and ability to work based on current curriculum documents. The ability to see the organization in a holistic perspective and integrate student welfare work into the organization is required. You handle situationally adapted learning and leadership based on your ability to understand students' situations and values and meet them where they are without difficulty. You create relationships both internally and externally characterized by respect and trust, and can engage, enthuse, stimulate and encourage students towards learning and personal responsibility. For us to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teacher certification. When we want to offer you the position, you must provide a certificate from the police criminal record register so we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, sections 31-33 of the Education Act. About Us Sånnaskolan is an F-6 school with approximately 450 students and 65 staff members. The school opened in 2020 and includes an associated Montessori track. Sånnaskolan is located in beautiful natural surroundings in Åhus near the sea, next to the golf course and with a schoolyard that can serve as an arena for outdoor learning.
