We welcome all students in grades 7-9 of compulsory school as well as grades 6-9 of special education compulsory school. The school is located right next to Rinkeby center with good transportation connections by subway as well as buses to commuter train stations. Read more about our school at: https://rinkebyskolan.stockholm.se/ We are now seeking 1 special educator or special education teacher with a focus on mathematics for grades 7-9 who is eager to make a difference in our students' lives. There is an opportunity for a lead teacher position if you have held that assignment at a previous school or if you have previously completed merit assessment. Your role/Responsibilities You will teach mathematics in our studio for students who struggle most with math, and you will also assist our SU group with mathematics. You will work to provide support to children and students in need of special support through both group and individually adapted working methods. Together with other special educators and special education teachers, you will work to analyze students' various development opportunities in different learning environments using in-depth didactic knowledge in the areas of children and students, and in the subject of mathematics. You will work together with staff and management to contribute to the development of the school's internal pedagogical work so that the operation can offer good learning environments and provide support and assistance to children and students in special need of it. If you are a lead teacher, this will involve systematically developing instruction together with the school's other 8 lead teachers. Rinkebyskolan works fully with collegial collaboration regarding planning and assessment in subject areas where lead teachers are important functions. You will be part of Rinkebyskolan's student support team, which consists of school leadership, principal and two assistant principals, school nurse, school psychologist, counselor, study and career counselor, and special educators. Connected to the student support team is also a school physician. Your competence and experience/Qualifications You are a licensed compulsory school teacher with a special education diploma or special educator certification with a focus on mathematics. We are looking for someone who: • Shows a particularly strong ability to improve students' academic results and has a strong interest in developing instruction • Is assessed by the authority as particularly qualified for instruction and tasks related to instruction Particularly qualifying for lead teacher or other positions: • Merit assessment • Certification and teaching experience in an additional school subject, preferably Swedish as a Second Language or Natural Sciences. • VFU supervisor training, mentor training, or other coaching/supervisor training • Master's degree in education science • Experience working with school development and/or leading professional development for teachers You have good experience and well-established routines for documentation and evaluation of students' development. We would like to see that you are familiar with and can apply clarifying pedagogy or other methods that ensure a good learning environment. You are expected to be able to communicate your students' needs in daily pedagogical work to other teaching teachers and school staff.
