We are in need of a special education teacher in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language as our current teacher is moving on to another position. Södermalmsskolan is part of the central school district and has approximately 850 students from preschool through grade 9. The facilities and schoolyard are divided into sections for grades F-3, 4-6, and 7-9, where each level has its own naturally defined area to promote play and activity. The school has 130 competent staff members who work together to strengthen students' achievement of learning goals. This position is a temporary substitute position. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS You will work at grades 7-9 with a focus on Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language. We expect you to bring a relational perspective with a strong focus on health-promoting and preventive work in student welfare. A major focus is on supporting teachers in developing instruction that reaches all students in the classroom. You contribute to adapting instruction so that all students, regardless of background, have equal opportunities to develop according to curriculum standards. You monitor and document student learning, identify success factors, and drive improvement initiatives that strengthen instruction and student progress. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who: • are qualified to teach grades 7-9 in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language • have a special education teacher diploma, but we also welcome you who are at the end of your special education teacher training • have previous work experience in the teaching profession • can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish as language is our primary tool. We see it as an advantage if you have previous experience with language and knowledge development work. To succeed in the role of special education teacher with us, you are calm, stable, and composed in stressful situations. You are self-directed, take responsibility for your tasks, and find it easy to create structure in your planning and instruction. You must have good collaboration skills since you will work closely with both students and teachers at the school. This means you listen, communicate, and support our students and teachers in a constructive manner. It is also important that you are relationship-building and have good understanding of students' different circumstances, and that you adapt your way of communicating messages.
