Description Would you like to make a difference in students' learning, development, and well-being? We are now seeking a dedicated special education teacher for Bergsgårdsskolan's adapted primary school who wants to be part of our competent and engaged team. This is a permanent position. Bergsgårdsskolan is a primary school with grades F–6 (2 parallel classes) as well as an adapted primary school for grades 1–6. Approximately 330 students attend the regular primary school and around 70 students attend the adapted primary school, distributed across 13 classes. Within the adapted primary school, we have classes from grades 1–6 consisting of 9 subject-area classes and 4 subject-specific classes. The school is located in Hjällbo with proximity to natural areas and only a five-minute walk from the Hjällbo tram stop. We have an experienced and well-functioning student welfare team consisting of a school nurse, counselor, special education specialist, and psychologist who provide close support to both students and staff. Job Responsibilities We are seeking a special education teacher with experience and knowledge of teaching in adapted primary schools for students studying subject areas. You have solid knowledge of the curriculum for subject areas and can plan, implement, and follow up on instruction based on each student's individual conditions and needs. In your role as a special education teacher, you will teach students in grades 1–6 who study according to the following subject areas: Aesthetic Activities Communication Reality Perception Motor Skills Daily Living Activities You will work closely with colleagues, educational assistants, guardians, and the student welfare team to create a safe, accessible, and developmental learning environment for students. Together with your team, you are responsible for developing instruction and ensuring that students are given the best possible conditions to progress as far as possible in their academic and personal development. As a special education teacher, you will also contribute your expertise to pedagogical development work and promote an inclusive and relational approach where the student's strengths, participation, and independence are in focus. Qualifications We are seeking someone who: - is a certified teacher with authorization to teach in adapted primary school. - is a trained special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. - has experience working in adapted primary schools with various student groups/functional variations (subject-area classes, subject-specific classes). - has experience with AAC, clarifying pedagogy, and low-affect interaction. For this role, we are looking for someone with strong collaboration skills who enjoys working closely with classroom teachers and the student welfare team to achieve the school's shared goals.
