The Learning and Culture Administration in Nybro Municipality operates preschools, preschool classes, primary schools, adapted primary schools, school day care, upper secondary schools and municipal adult education with Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) and special education for adults. Within the administration, education in glasswork is available through Riksglasskolan in Pukeberg as well as commissioned education and courses within vocational higher education. We are now seeking an engaged and competent special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities (ID) for our adapted primary school in Nybro. JOB DUTIES As a special education teacher you are responsible for planning, implementing, following up and developing teaching based on students' individual conditions and needs. The assignment includes: • Plan, implement and evaluate instruction in multiple subjects. • Be a mentor and create safe and trusting relationships with students and guardians. • Work together with colleagues to identify and develop students' strengths and address their challenges. • Assess students' needs and design extra adaptations and special support. • Work with clarifying pedagogy, AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) and adaptations in the learning environment. • Collaborate with student assistants, student health services, school leadership and external partners, such as habilitation services. • Document, assess and monitor students' knowledge development. QUALIFICATIONS You are a licensed teacher with a special education teacher qualification with a focus on intellectual disabilities. • Have experience working in adapted primary school or similar activities. • Have knowledge of and experience with IBT (Intensive Behavior Training). • Have experience with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and other alternative communication methods. • Are comfortable using digital tools and educational aids in teaching. • Have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing and document according to applicable guidelines. Experience working with students with autism and/or ADHD is a merit.
