We are now seeking an engaged special education teacher for the intermediate level with a focus on mathematics at Åkerskolan. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a special education teacher, you will be part of the school's student support team with a natural connection to the intermediate level. You will teach students with special needs in mathematics and/or Swedish according to intervention plans or as additional accommodations. Teaching can take place individually, in small groups, or together with teachers in the classroom. You will work closely with our intermediate-level students both individually and in groups, and you will conduct assessments of students in mathematics and/or Swedish to inform your support instruction. When needed, you will conduct classroom observations to address various questions. You will provide suggestions for different accommodations that can support students with special needs in their learning development. You will support mentors in developing pedagogical assessments and intervention plans, and mentoring may also be involved. You will facilitate student support discussions in your team where needs are identified at the organizational, group, and individual levels. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • a teaching degree with a focus on grades 4-6. • a special education teacher degree or other education the employer deems equivalent. • documented and current experience working in primary school. • documented and current experience working with students with NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities) and psychosocial challenges. • experience planning and leading groups in various activities. • excellent ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. It is an advantage if you also have training in H4, ITPA-3, Bravkod, or other assessment methods.
