JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a special education teacher specializing in intellectual disabilities or special educator/special pedagogue, you will be a mentor for a class of approximately ten students studying subject areas. The work team includes five student assistants who, together with you, create the best conditions for student learning, development, and participation. In your role as mentor, you are responsible for: -Planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized and group-adapted instruction based on students' abilities, needs, and goals. Developing, adapting, and implementing pedagogical strategies, methods, and learning environments that promote learning, independence, and participation. -Mentoring and collaborating with student assistants to ensure coordinated and qualitative pedagogical support where assistants function as supportive aids for the student. -Collaborating closely with teachers, special educators, student welfare teams, and external professionals to create a holistic perspective on student learning, development, and well-being. -Building and maintaining trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. -Responsible for pedagogical assessment, documentation, and follow-up, including evaluations for additional support. -Analyzing collected information, identifying areas for development, and designing action plans that support the student's continued development and goal achievement. -Actively participating in the school's development work and contributing to strengthening the quality of pedagogical activities. QUALIFICATIONS -Developing and following action plans and IUP (Individual Educational Plans) for students, and leading teachers and student assistants regarding student development. -Following school procedures and actively participating in operations with a professional approach. -Able to build and maintain safe relationships with students and colleagues. -Active in professional contexts such as meetings and pedagogical discussions. -Communicates clearly. Ensures that messages are conveyed and expectations are clear to all parties involved. -Has a low-affect approach when managing challenging behaviors, using this as your teaching approach throughout the organization.
